How Bridging Works
Burn on Source
When you bridge, your GOV tokens are burned on the source chain. The OFT contract sends a cross-chain message via LayerZero.
Cross-Chain Message
LayerZero validators and executors relay the message to the destination chain. This typically takes 1-2 minutes.
Mint on Destination
The OFT contract on the destination chain mints the same amount of GOV tokens directly to your wallet. Same token, new chain.
Good to Know
Network Fees
Bridging requires a small native gas fee on the source chain to cover cross-chain messaging costs. The exact fee is quoted before you send. Any excess fee is automatically refunded.
No Slippage
OFT bridging is not a swap. Tokens are burned and minted 1:1 with no liquidity pools, no slippage, and no bridge fees beyond the gas cost. You receive exactly what you send.
